Job summary

The Sterile Processing Technician II position at Beth Israel Lahey Health / New England Baptist Hospital offers a day shift with 40 hours per week to support critical patient care. Qualifications

• CRCST or CSPDT Certification via HSPA or CBSPD is required
• CIS issued by HSPA preferred
• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent is required
• Minimum experience: 1-3 years of work experience is required

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates surgical instruments per instructions and supervisor guidance
• Operates decontamination equipment
• Inspects instruments after decontamination for cleanliness and integrity
• Assembles instrument trays ensuring sterility and accessibility
• Uses count sheets to ensure accurate tray assembly
• Interfaces with department tracking system for processing
• Packages instrument sets according to guidelines
• Loads sterilizer carts correctly to protect packaged items
• Runs daily sterilizer tests and monitors biological indicators
• Documents load contents and tracking system updates
• Unloads loads and stores instruments per tracking locations
• Coordinates and provides coverage at 1BP and Main campus as needed
