Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the department responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, inspecting, and managing surgical instruments and equipment to ensure safety for patient procedures. The role does not involve direct patient contact and supports a Monday–Friday evening shift.

Educational requirements include a High School Diploma or Equivalent and CRCST certification, with 1–2 years of healthcare sterile processing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification required.
• 1–2 years experience in a healthcare sterile processing role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive used medical instruments and equipment from operating rooms or other departments.
• Load prepared instruments into sterilizers following loading patterns and protocols.
• Conduct regular quality checks of instruments, equipment, and packaging materials to ensure sterilization standards are met.
• Assist with managing inventory levels, including receiving, inspecting, and restocking sterile supplies.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot sterilization equipment and instrumentation.
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced sterile processing technicians.
