Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking an Instrument Technician for Surgery to manage inter-departmental instrument needs between the OR, Case Carts, and Sterile Processing. You will coordinate daily instrument requirements with OR partners and team leaders, and ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and inspection of instrumentation.

The role covers Immediate Use Sterilization processes and Biologic Indicator testing as required, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and teamwork within an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication and prioritization/organization skills.
• Basic ability to read computer printouts and follow task lists.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inter-departmental instrument needs between OR, Case Carts, and Sterile Processing.
• Communicate daily instrument needs with OR partners and team leaders.
• Clean, sterilize and inspect instrumentation to proper standards.
• Handle Immediate Use Sterilization and Biologic Indicator testing as needed.
