Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of reusable medical devices at the hospital. You will follow established procedures, ensure traceability, and help maintain the safety and readiness of instruments used in patient care.

This onsite role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 0–1 year of experience, and preference for CRCST. Evening shift, 40 hours weekly, and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
• CRCST credential preferred.
• 0–1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile processing workflows and infection prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable medical devices and surgical instrumentation.
• Operate sterile processing equipment per policies and IFU.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function, and completeness; identify repairs needed.
• Assemble instrument trays and procedure sets per tray listings and quality standards.
• Use instrument tracking systems to document processing and maintain traceability.
• Maintain stock of sterile supplies and processing consumables.
• Transport instruments and supplies to support patient care areas.
• Report equipment malfunctions, processing concerns, or safety risks.
