Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CRCST preferred.
• Experience as a Central Sterile Technician or similar role in healthcare (0-1 year preferred).

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable medical devices and surgical instrumentation.
• Operate washers, sterilizers, and related equipment per departmental policies.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and functionality; identify items needing repair or replacement.
• Assemble instrument trays and procedure sets according to standard listings and quality standards.
• Maintain traceability using instrument tracking systems.
• Hold inventory of sterile supplies and processing consumables.
• Transport instruments and supplies to support patient care areas.
• Communicate equipment malfunctions and safety risks to relevant staff.
• Follow regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and departmental standards.
• Participate in training, competency validation, and continuous improvement.
