Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in Sterile Processing preferred, or successful completion of STHS apprenticeship.
• Certification within 12 months of hire: CBSPD Sterile Processing Technician or CRCST (HSPA) OR ability to attain certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, preparation, packaging, sterilization, sterile storage, and distribution of sterile medical devices.
• Safely handles and cares for equipment, instruments, and supplies.
• Tests, monitors, and operates sterile processing equipment.
• May pull instruments and supplies for case carts for scheduled surgical cases.
