Job summary

Terrebonne General Health System is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instruments, trays and patient care equipment. You will operate processing equipment and ensure proper inventory of sterile supplies. Linen items are also sterilized as needed.

Must have either a HS diploma or GED and upgrading to a Central Sterile Processing program is preferred; 2+ years in Central Service or Surgery is desirable, with rotation shift work required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Central Sterile Processing program preferred.
• At least two years’ experience in Central Service or Surgery preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, and decontamination/sterilization techniques.
• Good organizational skills.
• Must stand for long periods and be able to walk and lift (17–25 lbs).
• Must be able to work rotating shift work.

• Decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instruments and trays.
• Operate processing equipment and maintain inventory of sterile items.
• Sterilize linen items as required for the organization.
