Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Sterile Processing professional to ensure cleaned, prepared, and sterilized equipment for surgical procedures. You will support clinical operations in the surgical and satellite settings, performing instrument care and inventory management with strict adherence to MIFU and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: additional degrees, business training or certifications in Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology.
• KSAs include strong computer and data-entry skills and professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Receive, clean, distribute and store medical instruments and equipment.
• Perform instrument care and disassembly/ cleaning per MIFU.
• Inspect, package and reassemble instruments and trays for procedures.
• Follow sterilization methods (H2O2 plasma, pre-vacuum, gravity displacement).
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards.
