Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure the availability of cleaned, prepared, and sterilized instruments for surgical procedures. You will support clinical knowledge and assist in operative suites, while adhering to MIFU, SOPs, and regulatory standards.

Required high school diploma; preferred 2 years sterile processing or related training, plus CRCST/IAHCSMM/CSPDT/CFER certifications.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred experience: 2 years in sterile processing or completed course in sterile processing or surgical technology.
• Preferred certifications: CRCST, CSPDT, CFER; and related credentialing bodies.

Responsibilities

• Performs general and specialized instrument care duties.
• Provides supplies as needed for surgical procedures.
• Disassembles and cleans critical reusable medical equipment per MIFU.
• Inspects, packages, and reassembles instruments and trays.
• Performs various sterilization techniques per MIFU and SOPs.
