Wilson Health in Sidney, Ohio is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I for our hospital. This full-time, first-shift role focuses on decontaminating, assembling, inspecting, wrapping, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments for Surgical Services and other departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail and dependability.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred (Microsoft Word, Excel).
• Associates expected to obtain CRCST certification.
• Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect instruments and equipment; determine processing methods per hospital policies.
• Inspect instruments for damage and report concerns to Team Lead or Manager.
• Assemble, wrap, and prepare instruments for sterilization.
• Maintain detailed tray lists and sterilization records.
• Monitor instrument repairs and request replacements as needed.
• Inform OR/OB/ER teams of missing instruments or those sent for repair.
• Maintain sterile inventory and supplies for cleaning, processing, and sterilization.
• Follow infection control policies and safety guidelines.
