Position Summary

Under the leadership of the department director and assistant director, the Sterile Processing Supervisor reports to the assistant director and is responsible for all aspects of the department. The role oversees and manages sterile processing areas supporting Surgical Services and coordinates the reprocessing and delivery of items to other areas within the health care organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve sterile processing services.
• Develop and maintain a quality improvement program for sterile processing.
• Support and integrate evidence‑based standards into sterile processing services.
• Oversee the development and training of new hires and continuing education of current staff.
• Maintain accurate sterilization and processing records in accordance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collect and analyze data to support department workflow and resource utilization.
• Develop work plans, methods and procedures; determine priorities and schedules to ensure adequate staff coverage.
• Resolve operational challenges, propose solutions, and promote teamwork.
• Encourage regular communication and inform staff of relevant business issues.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in sterile processing, central supply, or perioperative services.
• Previous supervisory experience in sterile processing, operating room, or supply chain services preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field.
• Associate Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college preferred.
• Current HSPA‑CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CBSPD‑CSPDT required.

Benefits and Compensation

• Assigned Work Hours: Evening shift with flexible hours to attend daytime meetings or training, 2 P‑10:30 P, Monday‑Friday; occasional weekend shift as needed.
• Position Type: Regular.
• Pay Range: $41.53 to $55.56 per hour (based on years of applicable experience).
• Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $2.40.
• Hourly Night Shift Differential: $3.59.
