Job summary

Scripps Health in La Jolla is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor for a full-time, exempt role. The position operates weekdays 12:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with one rotating day off, and is housed in the Scripps Memorial La Jolla facility.

You will lead the operating room sterile processing team, ensuring thorough sterilization, decontamination, and quality control, while collaborating with nursing and OR staff to deliver safe patient care.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of sterilization processes and handling instrumentation.
• Understanding of quality control testing and corrective actions.
• Knowledge of disinfection methods and infection control principles.
• Familiarity with accreditation standards (AORN, AAMI, OSHA, JCAHO).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Operating Room Sterile Processing Department.
• Ensure thorough sterilization, decontamination, assembly, packaging, and storage of instruments.
• Oversee quality control and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with OR nursing staff and hospital services to deliver safe patient care.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and counsel personnel; manage resources and budget.
• Serve as back-up for Materials Manager and maintain a compliant environment.
