Job summary

SCA Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Lead/Supervisor to oversee the sterile processing department and ensure high-quality sterilization of instruments for the OR. You will manage scheduling, supervise SPD staff, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards and quality controls.

The role requires 4 years of Sterile Processing experience, certification preferred, and a personable, flexible leader who can adapt to a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Certification in Sterile Processing is highly preferred.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• 4 years of Sterile Processing experience required.
• 1-2 years as Lead Technician/Supervisor preferred.
• Knowledge of typical OR equipment required.
• Personable, friendly, and flexible with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to be flexible with work schedule and maintain regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains area/department in an orderly/organized fashion.
• Creates schedule for department to ensure coverage for each day.
• Knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and care of instruments.
• Cleans and/or disinfects instruments and equipment after use and returns it to the proper area, in appropriate sequence.
• Keeps records accurate and up-to-date per standards.
• Performs ongoing daily/weekly routines and documents logs as required.
• Assists with room turnover and preparation for surgeries as directed.
