Job summary

The University of California, Irvine’s UCI Health Sterile Processing Department seeks a Supervisor to lead the shift, prioritizing workflow and ensuring proper decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment.

You will serve as a resource, enforce infection control practices, coordinate workloads, and manage employee performance including evaluations and corrective actions as needed in a busy healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience.
• Minimum three years’ CST leadership experience.
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current CRCST or CST certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, prioritize, and coordinate team work flow for the shift.
• Ensure appropriate decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of supplies and equipment.
• Act as a resource and ensure infection control practices are followed.
• Coordinate, plan and assign workloads; manage time reporting and scheduling.
• Manage performance of team members including evaluations and corrective actions.
