Job summary

Duke Health Cary is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to provide frontline operational leadership for the Sterile Supply Processing at Duke Health Cary. You will coordinate daily operations, support staff performance, and ensure safe, high-quality service delivery, acting as liaison between the OR and SPD to ensure instrumentation readiness.

Requires an associate degree, 3+ years in sterile processing with 1 year leadership, and CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician including at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Current certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST, HSPA, or CBSPD) is required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and supervises the work of assigned staff to ensure smooth workflow.
• Selects, trains and manages the performance of staff; provides direction and development opportunities.
• Coordinates departmental workflow in decontamination, instrument inspection, assembly and packaging.
• Proficient use of instrumentation barcode tracking systems (SPM, Epic, Dove Tree).
• Monitors inventory, procurement and stocking; analyzes usage and sets par levels.
• Identifies opportunities to improve processes for quality, safety and productivity.
• Maintains ongoing communications with staff and related departments.
