UVA Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Department leader to ensure standards of operation align with regulatory agencies and internal policies. You will supervise SPD staff, hire and evaluate performance, assign workloads, and drive process improvements.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• 3 years of progressive leadership experience in sterile processing, preferably in a hospital.
• CRCST certification or CSPDT certification required.

Aufgaben

• Ensure department operations comply with regulatory standards (VIRGINIA DHD, JCAHO, OSHA, AAMI).
• Oversee decontamination, prep, and sterilization of instruments.
• Provide direct supervision to SPD personnel.
• Hire, evaluate, and take corrective action; set staff criteria and goals.
• Assign workload and standardize procedures; troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Approve time off requests, monitor attendance and coverage.
• Mentor staff and facilitate career development; conduct orientation and training.
• Lead performance improvement activities and analyze data for improvements.
• Act as champion of the Instrument Tracking System and perform admin duties.
• Utilize reporting to identify departmental improvements; maintain physical environment.
• Enforce fire and safety regulations; ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Seek self-improvement opportunities and attend trainings.
• Other duties may be assigned.
