Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee prep, sterilization and distribution of equipment and endoscopes for patient care. You will supervise staff, ensure proper decontamination processes, and support policy development and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 5–7 years in sterile processing, national certifications, and BLS. Leadership and knowledge of surgical terminology are highly valued to maintain safety and efficiency in the department.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred.
• Requires one national certification in sterile processing (CRCST, CSPDT, CFER or CST) and a second national certification (e.g., CIS; CSIP; CFER; CST).
• Requires 24 CE credits annually focused on CS field.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Requires 5–7 years relevant experience.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization practices and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preparation, sterilization and distribution of equipment, supplies, instruments and endoscopes for patient care.
• Supervises and develops staff; ensures decontamination and sterilization processes are appropriate.
• Prepares reports and assists with policy/procedure development; implements related programs.
• Ensures patient and team member safety and adherence to regulatory recommendations in sterile processing.
