Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks a skilled Central Sterile Technician to clean, wrap, sterilize, store and distribute surgical instruments and endoscopes. You will prepare case carts, train staff and provide guidance to the team under the manager’s supervision.

The role requires state-of-the-art CS knowledge, 3–5 years of experience, and ongoing CE credits; NBSTSA CST maintenance is expected for hybrid OR/SPD work. Strong computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of surgical instrumentation and case cart prep.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must hold one central sterile certification and a second related to central service.
• Requires 24 CE credits annually focused on CS field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Maintain NBSTSA CST certification for hybrid OR/SPD role.
• Basic computer skills; strong preceptor abilities.

Responsibilities

• Clean, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies, instruments and endoscopes.
• Assist clinical staff with surgical instrumentation preparation for cases.
• Provide training and guidance to team members and scheduling support.
• Maintain instrumentation knowledge and participate in inventory duties.
