Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Supervisor in the Central Processing Department (CPD). The supervisor will manage CPD activities, ensure compliance with standards, and guide staff in sterilization and equipment handling to protect patient safety.

Responsibilities include policy development, budgeting support, and acting as a hospital-wide infection control consultant, with direct and indirect staff oversight and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification is required.
• Knowledge of hospital infection control and medical terminology.
• Experience with computer systems including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Responsibilities

• Oversees CPD practices to comply with professional standards, licensing and accreditation.
• Develops and maintains policies on recycling, production, sterilization and disposition of equipment and supplies.
• Serves as hospital-wide consultant on infection and quality control issues related to decontamination/sterilization.
• Meets with vendor representatives to plan staff educational meetings.
• Directs and supports daily work activities; handles hiring, termination, corrective actions and performance reviews for staff.
• Assists in planning, monitoring and/or managing CPD budget.
