Qualifications

• CRCST or CSPDT Certification via HSPA or CBSPD is required.
• CIS Issued by HSPA preferred.
• High School Graduate or Equivalent is required.
• 1-3 years of work experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates surgical instruments according to manufacturer’s instructions or supervisor guidance.
• Inspects instruments after decontamination ensuring cleanliness, integrity and functionality.
• Assembles instrument trays ensuring sterility and easy access for end users; uses count sheets for accuracy.
• Interfaces with department tracking system for all processing functions.
• Packages or containerizes instrument sets according to guidelines and standards.
• Loads sterilizer carts and validates cycles; performs daily sterilizer tests.
• Documents load contents and tracks through the system; confirms correct parameters.
• Unloads sterilizers and stores items per tracking locations; coordinates coverage across campuses.
