Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Department Technician to perform decontamination, set assembly and sterilization of surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes for patient care across our facilities.

You will use the instrument tracking system, uphold AAMI guidelines, and serve as a resource to teammates while supporting departmental efficiency and timely instrument turnover.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or related experience.
• Certification required within 2 years of hire: IAHCSMM or CSPDT.
• Experience in sterile processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows manufacturer’s guidelines for steam and low temperature sterilization and documents via Steris IQ tracking system.
• Performs decontamination and disinfection of instrumentation and flexible endoscopes.
• Assembles instrument kits and cart according to department standards.
• Adheres to Hospital Sterile Processing Department policies and AAMI guidelines.
• Maximizes productivity and demonstrates time management skills.
• Contributes to the growth of the department and peers.
• Delivers prompt quality customer service for our patients.
• Expedites the turnover of surgical instrumentation.
• Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
