Job summary

New Solutions is seeking a Sterile Processing & Equipment Technician to support hospital operations. You will clean, disinfect, sterilize instruments, assemble trays, and ensure instrument readiness for procedures.

The role emphasizes strict adherence to sterility, proper documentation, and using tracking systems. A high school diploma is required, with certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution attainable within two years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified in Sterile Processing and Distribution or obtain within two years of employment.
• Knowledgeable of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, disinfects, and terminally sterilizes instruments and equipment.
• Assembles all components of trays used within area of responsibility.
• Keeps equipment coordinator informed of any problems or suspected problems with the various pieces of equipment and instruments in their assigned area.
• Uses various sterilization processes that are in place including steam, Sterrad and Steris.
• Maintains event related sterility according to procedure.
• Demonstrates understanding of the decontamination and sterilization process of instruments and equipment used throughout the hospital.
• Understands instruments and instrument trays used on a daily basis and their maintenance.
• Demonstrates the correct use of Impress Instrument Tracking System in each area.
