Job summary

Advocate Health’s Good Shepherd Hospital is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician to support the Decontamination, Assembly and Sterilization workflow. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and compliance with safety procedures to ensure patient care equipment is sterile and ready for use.

The incumbent will work a 40-hour PM shift with on‑call rotations, receive on‑the‑job training, and have access to healthcare benefits and professional development opportunities within Advocate

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1 year experience preferred, but not required.
• Certified Central Service Tech preferred, but not required.
• Current Employees to Obtain Certification Within 12 Months as of July 1st, 2013

Responsibilities

• Decontamination of instruments and equipment.
• Assemble instrument sets and packaging for terminal sterilization.
• Operate sterilizers and monitor cycles to ensure sterility.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area throughout the shift.
• Assist with inventory and distribution of sterile items.
