Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Sterile Processing Instrument Technician to follow decontamination, processing, high level disinfection and sterilization procedures for instruments and equipment. You will document processes in logs or computer systems, prioritize items for processing, and assist with dispatch of instruments and supplies while adhering to hospital policies.

Role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, no prior experience, basic computer skills, and ability to wear PPE.

• Other: Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to wear PPE.
• Must interact with staff and co-workers across a diverse range of disciplines.
• Must be able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Decontamination, Processing and Sterilization of instruments.
• Maintain documentation in logs or computer systems for all steps.
• Prioritize instrumentation for processing and dispatch equipment and supplies.
• Receive and answer telephone inquiries and coordinate instrument flow.
