Job summary

Cedars-Sinai invites experienced Sterile Processing leaders to join our dedicated perioperative services team in Los Angeles. The Assistant Manager oversees decontamination, assembly, and sterilization operations, ensures compliance with Joint Commission and AAMI standards, and partners with OR leaders to maintain high-quality instrument processing.

The role requires five years of supervisory Sterile Processing experience and CRCST certification, with a focus on staffing, budgeting, and staff

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressive supervising and Sterile Processing experience to include decontamination, wrapping, sterilization and infection control.
• CRCST certification required.
• Experience with decontamination, wrapping, sterilization and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the activities and initiatives in support of all Sterile Processing responsibilities, including decontamination, wrapping, sterilization of instruments and infection control.
• Ensures all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal regulations, Joint Commission, AAMI standards and laws governing Sterile Processing responsibilities.
• Rounds on OR units and develops and maintains effective relationships with Operating Room leaders and other key customers; maintain an active/visible presence within Sterile Processing Department.
• Reviews productivity reports and other metrics in collaboration with Supervisors and Educator and implements development or applicable performance management, including supervising or developing action plans to support staff development.
• Provides effective oversight and serves as a resource to staff; assesses total resource needs of the Sterile Processing department to maximize personnel and resources.
• Assists in monitoring established performance improvement systems to ensure the highest level of Sterile Processing standards are being met.
• Oversees the Sterile Processing Supervisors and ensures department policies are adhered to and there is consistent application across the department.
• Reviews staff corrective actions and performance evaluations.
• Assists Sterile Processing Manager with development of departmental goals, new hire evaluation process and staff recruitment; facilitates staff meetings.
• Resolves escalated situations involving instrumentation and sterilization.
