Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 5 years related field experience with 1 year leadership experience
• Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician or equivalent certification recommended

Responsibilities

• Identifies and champions performance improvement opportunities and utilizes processes to recommend, implement, and evaluate practice changes.
• Ensures department utilizes proper precautions during decontamination processes; ensures instruments, sets and supplies are assembled, packaged, and sterilized per standards.
• Initiates product recalls per departmental policy.
• Has full authority for personnel actions including assessing staff performance and completing evaluations.
• Assesses staff resources and delegates responsibilities to meet surgical services needs.
• Collaborates with the Business Manager to monitor financial information and address trends.
• Monitors shelf life of sterile items and coordinates rotation of supplies; tracks workload indicators.
• Supervises use of consignment sets and ensures accurate patient charging.
• Reviews charging processes and revises charge sheets with stakeholders.
• Collaborates with leaders and vendors to plan OR instrumentation needs.
• Keeps current with regulatory requirements related to sterilization and implant management; pursues continuing education.
