Job summary

NYU Langone Florida in West Palm Beach is seeking a Manager-West Palm Beach SPD-Day Shift to lead the Sterile Processing Department, ensuring quality sterile and high-level disinfection of instrumentation, supplies and equipment in compliance with JC, AAMI and AORN standards.

The role oversees staffing, training, budget adherence, quality assurance, infection control collaboration and department safety, while driving process improvements and staff development.

Qualifications

• Must be Certified Registered Central Service Technician (HSPA).
• Bachelor's degree in Education or healthcare-related field, or equivalent.
• Five years of responsible Central Service hospital experience and progressive work in sterile processing with two years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of inventory control, supply distribution, receiving, reprocessing techniques and principles, production management and regulatory standards.
• Knowledge and experience in surgical instrumentation and regulatory standards.
• Current membership and active participation in a relevant professional organization.
• Must possess computer knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with clinic and hospital managers to ensure staff competency and compliance with sterilization/high-level disinfection processes and policies.
• Oversees decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and high-level disinfection of reusable instrumentation.
• Develops and communicates department policies regarding sterilization/high-level disinfection to staff, management, nursing, and physicians.
• Develops, implements and monitors departmental policies aligning with organizational goals and budgets.
• Monitors financial performance and identifies strategies to reduce cost and improve quality of care/service.
• Performs comprehensive audits and reports to Infection Prevention and Surveillance Committee.
• Reports time-sensitive information or non-compliance to leadership.
• Supervises sterile processing activities in the absence of regular staff, ensuring workflow to operating rooms and across the Medical Center.
