Job summary

FMOL Health in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an experienced Sterile Processing Department Manager to oversee decontamination, sterilization, and instrument distribution. You will lead SPD technicians, manage budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with OR teams to ensure instrument availability.

The role requires 3+ years in sterile processing, 1+ year supervisory, and CSPDT/CRCST certification; a Bachelor's in a health-related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years' experience in an acute or ambulatory care sterile processing department.
• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• Minimum one (1) year' experience in preparing for local, state and/or federal survey and/or The Joint Commission.

Responsibilities

• Supervises SPD technicians and SPD staff to achieve operational performance and quality goals.
• Manages all collection, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, high-level disinfection, distribution and inventory management.
• Maintains education and proficiency in Sterile Processing operations and serves as technical expert for reprocessing.
• Facilitates recruitment, onboarding, feedback, and performance documentation.
• Schedules staff, monitors labor budgets, and submits department budgets to leadership.
• Ensures equipment status, regulatory compliance, and effective communication with OR teams.
