Job summary

Good Samaritan Medical Center is seeking an experienced healthcare leader to oversee sterile processing and instrument management. The role requires hands-on decontamination, sterilization, and coordination with OR/OB/Cath Lab teams to ensure accurate instrument trays and logbooks, with a focus on patient safety and efficiency.

Education requirements include a high school diploma; 2-3 years of SPD experience and knowledge of instrument handling are expected.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; able to read, write and communicate in English; basic math skills (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• 2-3 years’ experience; current basic and specialty surgical instrument handling skills/knowledge.
• Desired: 5 years or more experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination procedure according to policy.
• Performs sterilization procedure according to departmental policy.
• Performs and oversees clerical functions related to maintenance of logbooks, inventory, and trays.
• Maintains Patient care Equipment
• Provides Professional Leadership and Direction to Staff.
