Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead the SPD team in decontamination, processing, and sterilization. You will oversee instrument assembly, case carts, and distribution to ORs and clinics, ensuring compliance with documentation and quality standards.

The role requires SPD supervisory experience, strong knowledge of instrumentation, and excellent communication. A signing bonus may be offered, with a final offer guided by experience and internal equity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certification.
• Current certification as a certified Central Processing Tech by a recognized certification agency.
• CHL or CSPM certification strong preferred but must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises assigned personnel, performs evaluations and training.
• Oversees SPD department activities: decontamination, processing, instrument assembly, sterilization.
• Supervises equipment operation and maintenance, takes corrective action as needed.
• Coordinates cleaning, sterilizing, inspecting, storing and distribution of sterile articles to departments.
• Verifies documentation such as sterilizer logs and incubator charts and corrects staff performance.
