Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the department under the Sterile Processing Manager/Supervisor. You will identify, inspect, assemble and sterilize equipment, and prepare procedure trays for surgical cases.

Responsibilities include decontamination, packaging, instrument set assembly, sterilizer monitoring, and training other technicians. The role supports case cart processes for Orthopedics, Cardiac, Neuro, and related services.

Qualifications

• Responsible for decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assembles and packages instrument sets for sterilization.
• Performs biological monitoring and testing of sterilizers.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper decontamination of surgical instruments, syringes, and equipment.
• Processes procedure trays and instrument sets through the decontamination room.
• Performs leak tests and decontamination for endoscopes.
• Assembles and wraps instrument trays and labels assembled sets.
• Operates steam and other sterilization equipment following QA procedures.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates distribution for OR needs.
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains equipment and monitors safety procedures.
