Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to join our Night shift team at 593 Eddy Street, Providence. Under the Sterile Processing Manager, you decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize instruments and trays for surgical cases.

You will process instrument sets, perform leak tests on endoscopes, operate steam sterilizers, and maintain inventory. You’ll help train new staff and ensure safety and quality standards across the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Sterile processing certification preferred.
• 3–6 months related experience in central sterile or surgical stock room.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, inspect, assemble and sterilize instruments and trays.
• Process procedure trays and instrument sets; perform endoscope leak tests.
• Operate steam sterilizers and related equipment; monitor QA procedures.
• Maintain inventory and assist in OR case cart preparation.
• Train and orient new staff; ensure safety and quality standards.
