Ochsner Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Education Specialist to lead the development and evaluation of education programs for the SPD team in a hospital setting. You will coordinate comprehensive orientation, provide ongoing training, and ensure staff competency in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

You will also oversee quality initiatives, assist staff with national certification exam readiness, and train on new products and procedures to ensure safety and resource efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s preferred.
• CRCST/CSPDT/CST certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
• 3 years’ experience leading teams in a healthcare setting.

Responsabilités

• Develops, plans, implements and evaluates educational programs for SPD staff.
• Coordinates comprehensive staff orientation and required training.
• Delivers technical orientation and ongoing training for sterile processing staff.
• Ensures competency and maintains education records in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Oversees quality and infection control initiatives for SPD.
• Provides training to prepare staff for national certification exams.
• Instructs on new products, procedures, and equipment to prevent resource loss and maintain safety.
