Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is offering a Sterile Processing Technician Apprentice role at Hillcrest Hospital. The program combines on-site work with classes at New Bridge, with a schedule spanning November 9, 2026 to March 19, 2027. Apprentices progress toward Certified Sterile Processing Technician status.

Participants will rotate through decontamination, sterilization, and instrument handling, supported by experienced caregivers and mentored through the process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maintain good attendance and punctuality in the partnered school's Sterile Processing Certification program.
• Certification (CRCST/CSPDT/CER) within 18 months of hire date.
• Experience in sterile processing or surgical instrumentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn all areas of sterile processing, including decontamination and sterilization of instruments.
• Identify missing or malfunctioning parts and verify instrument integrity.
• Assist with cleaning, wrapping and packaging instruments for sterilization.
• Prepare for the Central Service Technician test.
