Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician – Certified at the Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood, OH. This PRN role requires a training period on day shift M-F for several weeks to start.

The position entails decontaminating, reassembling, sterilizing, and distributing reusable patient care equipment and instrument trays, while supporting the OR processing and perioperative teams and maintaining PHI compliance during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination procedure
• Prepares reusable patient care items for sterilization
• Sterilization using appropriate sterilization methods
• Picks surgical case carts, stores and distribute reusable patient care equipment, instrument trays and supplies
• Participates as a productive member of the O.R. processing team
• Maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers
• Participates as a productive member of the perioperative process team
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
