Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking a Sterile Processing Aide under supervision to learn and perform handling, cleaning and distribution of surgical instruments and supplies.

You will train to work with the Sterile Processing Team, complete 400 practicum hours within the first three months, and support decontamination, packing and inventory tasks while upholding Infection Control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Didactic portion of Sterile Processing Program completed.
• Provisional CRCST certification preferred (HSPA).

Responsibilities

• Assist Sterile Processing Specialists with daily tasks and assignments.
• Learn tasks to function independently in sterile processing.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Infection Control standards.
• Assist with instrument handling, decontamination, and sterilization processes.
• Support inventory and par level maintenance for instrument sets.
