Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain standards for instrument set assembly, decontamination, and sterilization. You will prepare sterile instrument sets and case carts, coordinating with Perioperative Nursing staff to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, certification as a Central Sterile Tech preferred, or 3 years of experience without CST certification. No licenses required beyond CST/CSTP preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner.
