Job summary

Piedmont Cartersville is seeking a Central Service Technician to maintain sterile instrument sets and ensure proper decontamination, assembly, storage, and sterilization of medical supplies. The role requires coordination with Perioperative Nursing staff to support timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED and has completed a Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program, or has equivalent work experience.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Services Processing or Surgical Tech program required.
• Or in lieu of certification, prior experience as Central Service or Surgical Tech accepted.
• CCST or CST certification may be required upon hire if no prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile instrument sets, decontaminate and inspect items.
• Assemble, containerize, and sterilize surgical instruments and supplies.
• Collaborate with Perioperative Nursing staff to ensure timely delivery.
