Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to maintain standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, and sterilization of surgical instruments. You will prepare instrument sets and case carts, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy, and collaborate with Perioperative staff to support continuous workflow and quality service.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, CST certification or CST training, and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech required.
• In lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience required.
• 3 years of Central Sterile experience required or no experience if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification.
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician preferred or CST - Certified Surgical Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts promptly.
• Aids in maintaining consistent and continuous workflow while delivering superior customer service.
