Job summary

BayCare Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, FL. This PRN, hourly position supports the pharmacy department under the pharmacist's oversight and focuses on accurate, timely preparation and delivery of medications to patients.

The role requires Florida registration and a high school diploma. Preferred candidates have 1 year of institutional experience or CPhT certification and pass the Pharmaceutical Calculations exam.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician License required.
• Experience with pharmacy calculations or passing the Pharmaceutical Calculations exam may be required.

Position Details

• Facility: St. Joseph's Hospital
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: PRN - as needed, hourly
• Shift Hours: 2:30pm-11:00pm
• Weekend Work: Occasional
• On Call: No

Pharmacy Technician, under the immediate oversight of the Pharmacist, responsibilities include:

• Support the mission of the hospital and pharmacy department
• Efficient, accurate and timely preparation, compounding, labeling, and delivering of pharmaceuticals to assure customer satisfaction
• Required Registration: Florida Department of Health Pharmacy Technician Registry or enrolled into a BayCare hospital with a Florida Board of Pharmacy Licensed Training Program for the Employer Based Registered Pharmacy Technician Training Program
• Preferred experience is 1-year Institutional practice or equivalent as determined by the hiring manager.
• Required specific skills may also include successfully passing Pharmaceutical Calculations exam.

Required Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent GED
• Required FL Registered Pharmacy Technician License

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year Pharmacy Technician experience
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
