Job summary

Requirements include an Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s in Nursing; a current Illinois RN license; CPR/BLS; ACLS (within 6 months); ACLS & PALS (within 6 months); and related certifications by 6/2026 (TNCC/TNS, ECRN, NRP, and more). Expect to work across multiple units as needed.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree required: ADN/ Diploma/ BSN/ MSN.
• Current Illinois RN license and CPR/BLS certificate.
• ACLS within 6 months; ACLS & PALS within 6 months.
• TNCC or TNS within 1 year; ECRN within 24 months.
• NRP within 6 months; NRP & PALS within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to support patients and families.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized care plan with the care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health.
• Use clinical judgement and critical thinking to respond to changes in patient condition.
• Document accurately in patient medical records.
• Contribute to policy/procedure development for patient safety and quality.
• Supervise licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Advocate for patients through collaboration with health professionals.
• Complete required education, competencies, and licensure on time.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency.
