Qualifications

• RN licensure in Illinois (current)
• CPR/BLS (current)
• ACLS (current within 6 months of hire)
• ACLS & PALS (current within 6 months of hire)
• TNCC or TNS required by 6/2026
• ECRN required by 6/2026
• NRP required within 6 months of hire
• NRP & PALS required within 6 months of hire
• NRP, ACLS, Fetal Monitoring – Monitoring and NRP within 6 months
• NRP within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Establish a compassionate environment and support patients and families
• Develop and evaluate an individualized care plan with the healthcare team
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health
• Use clinical judgment to identify and report changes in patient condition
• Document accurately in the patient medical record
• Contribute to policy/procedure development for patient safety and quality
• Supervise licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel
• Advocate for patients through collaboration with health professionals
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency
