Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking a professional nurse to provide comprehensive care across SIH patients. The role requires nursing licensure in Illinois and current CPR/BLS, with ACLS/NRP competencies to be obtained within designated timelines.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and deliver patient-centered care. This position involves floating to other SIH units within competency, providing education to patients and families, and documenting care

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed RN in Illinois.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• ACLS and NICU/NRP related certifications to be obtained within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Provide compassionate environment to support patients and families.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized care plan with the care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement with critical thinking to detect changes in patient condition.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
• Contribute to policies to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervise licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel as needed.
• Advocate for patients by communicating and collaborating with health professionals.
• Complete required education, competencies, and licensure on time.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.
