Job summary

Brooklyn Center Community Schools seeks STEP/ LEAP Activities Instructors for the 26-27 school year to lead groups of up to 25 youth in meaningful enrichment activities, including leadership, art, music, and physical activity.

Ideal candidates will foster relationships with students, mentor in social-emotional learning, and plan impactful experiences. Positions at BCE and BCS with after-school shifts; pay is $25.00 per hour.

The Brooklyn Center Community School (BCCS) District seeks applicants to join our team for school year 26-27 as a STEP/ LEAP Activities Instructor. STEP/ LEAP Activities Instructors are responsible for leading groups of up to 25 youth in high-quality enrichment activities in such areas as youth leadership, art, music, physical activity, entrepreneurship, etc.

Ideal candidates

Will possess the skills to: build genuine relationships with students, encourage social/emotional learning through mentorship, thoughtfully plan and implement impactful activities, set boundaries and address behavior concerns with students.

Sites, Days, and Hours:

Positions available at Brooklyn Center Elementary (BCE) and Brooklyn Center Middle & High School (BCS).

Program dates: 9/21/2026-05/27/2027

Available shifts: M-Th, 3:00-4:15pm at BCE / M-Th, 6:00-7:45am and 3:30-5:0pm at BCS. Shifts are flexible and will be scheduled with the Site Coordinator.

Requirements:

Previous experience leading activities with elementary and/or secondary school students

Pay:

$25.00/ hr
