Job summary

Brooklyn Center Community Schools (BCCS) is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year in Minnesota. The candidate will teach elementary special education students in a resource room setting, develop IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans, and collaborate with a school team.

MN licensure in Special Education is required; CPI training is encouraged. The district offers a stable schedule with 197 duty days, a comprehensive benefits package, and a strong commitment

Qualifications

• MN teaching licensure in Special Education is required.
• Experience with writing IEPs, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Intervention Plans is preferred.
• Ability to work with a team and participate in CPI training if needed.

Job Summary:
This position will teach elementary aged special education students, in a resource room setting. Candidate should haveknowledge and experience writingIEP’s, knowledge of MN special educationcriteria and the evaluation process including Functional Behavior Assessments; understanding the use of Positive Behavior Supports; knowledge of how to write a Behavior Intervention Plan; Knowledge of due process procedures; ability to work with a team; training or willingness to be trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), excellent skills and knowledge in Structured Behavior Management Systems; andexcellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications:MN Teaching licensure, Special Education, any disability area
Pay and Benefits:$50,000/year- $100,100/year, based on education and experience
Duty Days:197 duty days,7:15 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. includes 8 paid holidays!
