Job summary

RMH Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV seeks a Patient Care Assistant to perform nonprofessional direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will help with admission, transfers, daily living activities, vital signs, and maintaining a clean, safe environment to support licensed staff.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and BLS certification within 30 days of hire; prior patient care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assists the Registered Nurse with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs, assists in personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures; tracks intake/output.
• Assists in specimen collection and other activities of assigned patients.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to help prevent infections and ensure safety.
• Reports necessary equipment repairs to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures per procedure.
• Communicates with RN regarding nutrition issues or diet changes.
• Assists department with administrative tasks and answers patient call bell.
