GW Libraries & Academic Innovation in Washington, DC seeks Student Tutor for the Academic Commons program. The role supports GW students and DC community with tutoring across Chemistry, Economics, Math, Physics, and more.

Training and CRLA certification are provided upon completing 25 tutoring hours. Tutors meet students one-on-one or in small groups at scheduled times; you will apply research-based techniques to build communication, critical thinking and study skills.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position; training provided.
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate at GW.
• GPA of at least 3.0.
• B+ or better in each course tutored.
• Faculty reference recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring one-on-one or in small groups.
• Prepare tutoring lesson plans and teach study skills.
• Offer feedback on papers and projects and assist virtually or in-person.
• Collaborate on outreach and other department projects.
• Mandatory training held on Friday, January 8, 2027; attendance required.
