Job summary

Community College of Denver is seeking a Science/Math Peer Tutor in a work-study capacity on the Auraria Campus in Denver. The tutor will assist students in math and science courses through in-person and remote sessions, with emphasis on biology and chemistry knowledge.

Candidates with strong math/science backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include drop-in tutoring, in-class support for the HSDP, online sessions via WebEx, and collaboration with a diverse campus community.

Qualifications

Enrollment in at least six CCD credits for Fall 2026.
Must hold a Fall 2026 work-study award.
Evidence of math/science knowledge via high grades (A/B) in related courses.

Responsibilities

Assist students in the EXCEL! Zone drop-in tutoring center (one-on-one or small groups).
Support CCD High School Diploma Program in-classroom settings as directed by instructor.
Provide online tutoring via WebEx.
Interact professionally with diverse students and staff.
Develop students’ critical thinking through guided practice.
Continuously improve tutoring strategies and professional growth.
Collaborate with diverse campus communities and adhere to confidentiality policies.
Host reviews/workshops for larger groups during shifts.
