Job summary

University of North Texas - Dallas is seeking a Professional STEM Tutor (Math) to support undergraduate students in mathematics at the Dallas campus. This is a non-student, hourly position (FTE 0.48) that requires flexibility, reliable scheduling, and a commitment to student success.

The tutor will clarify lectures, assist with assignments, and help students develop study techniques and test-taking strategies while maintaining detailed records and participating in required trainings and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with STEM coursework.
• 1–3 years tutoring experience in an academic setting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge in the tutoring subject area.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring to students in math, including clarification of course assignments, lectures, and tests.
• Help students develop positive learning skills, such as study techniques and test-taking strategies.
• Refer students to Learning Commons resources and other academic services as needed.
• Attend required trainings and staff meetings.
• Assist in preparing resources for the Learning Commons including handouts, workshops, website content, and social media posts.
