Job summary

Florida State University’s FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Library is seeking a part-time Library Assistant (OPS) in Tallahassee, FL. The position assists with circulation, user information, and basic tech support while supporting library operations.

The schedule is part-time with a $14 per hour anticipated salary; candidates should have a high school diploma and be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to learn library systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic proficiency with computers and common office applications, such as Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace.
• Ability to provide courteous and professional customer service to library users.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and accurately complete routine tasks.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work while managing multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn library systems, resources, services, and basic technology troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Perform circulation and collection services, including the check-out and return of library materials
• Provide information, referrals, and promotional support related to College of Engineering Library resources and broader Florida State University services
• Assist users with basic technology troubleshooting and support
• Contribute to additional library operations and special projects as assigned
